Granting CME Credit to Physicians for Attending Classes!Congratulations to Eris Weaver for being the first Network librarian in the Pacific Southwest Region to complete the process for awarding Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit for PubMed training. Eris taught an Introduction to PubMed class in August and by competently filling in the paperwork was able to grant her physician attendees CME credits awarded by the National Institutes of Health/Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences (NIH/FAES) Committee. For more information on how you too can award CME credit for 1 or 2 hour PubMed classes, or, new this year, the Introduction to Consumer Health Resources at NLM classes, see http://nnlm.gov/training/nlmsys/ The paperwork may seem daunting at firstyou do need to follow the guidelines for publicity, evaluations and disclosure information. Fortunately, there is a handy checklist on the website. If you have any suggestions on how we could make the CME process easier or more streamlined, contact Kay Deeney at kdeeney@library.ucla.edu or 800-338-7657. KD |
