The Emergency Preparedness and Response Award supports projects that address natural disasters and local emergencies in the community, using the phases of preparedness, mitigation, recovery, and response.

Region 2 Exhibit Award Y4 $2,000

The Exhibit Award provides funding to exhibit at local, regional, national meetings, summits and conferences for health professionals, information professionals and health consumers. Exhibiting provides an opportunity to promote NLM products, Region 2 programs and/or Region 2 membership.

Region 2 Health Information Outreach Award Y4 $20,000

The purpose of the Health Information Outreach Award is to provide support for projects that improve health information literacy and increase the ability of patients, family members, students and members of the public to find and use health information; or improve health professionals’ access to, awareness of, and skills for locating high-quality biomedical and health information.

Region 2 Innovation Impact Award Y4 $16,000

The Innovation Impact Award supports new projects that involve creative program improvement and seek to enhance health information outreach, and may not fit into other award categories.

Region 2 Professional Development Awards Y4 $3,000

The purpose of the Professional Development Award is to strengthen the professional knowledge and experience of individual network members in data science or health information access/delivery and to build professional capacity in support of the goals of the NNLM.

NNLM Region 3 Student Development Award $3,000 The goal of this program is to introduce the future LIS workforce to the health sciences, trusted National Library of Medicine (NLM) resources, and develop their professional skills. With coaching from a talented NNLM professional, each awardee will deliver a 15-minute presentation (approximate) on an NLM resource or NNLM priority during the Annual Meeting of the South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association (SCC/MLA) October 25-29, 2024 in Dallas, TX. Region 2 Library Student Development Award Y4 $3,000 This program aims to introduce the future LIS workforce to the health sciences and trusted National Library of Medicine (NLM) resources and develop their professional skills. Region 4 Professional Development Awards Year 4 (2024-2025) $2,500

The purpose of the Professional Development Award is to 1) strengthen the professional knowledge and experience of individual network members in health data or health information access related services, 2) empower libraries and other organizations to train staff in skills needed to deliver reliable health information, and 3) build professional capacity in support of specific Region 4 Core Aims, the NNLM mission, and the NLM 2017-2027 Strategic Plan.
