Education and Outreach Coordinator, Region 7

Margot Malachowski (she/her) is an Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Network of the National Library of Medicine in Region 7. Her office is located at the UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester, MA. She started working with the Network in February 2017. Margot worked as the Community Outreach Librarian for Baystate Health in Springfield, MA from 2008-2016. Baystate Health is an integrated health care system that includes a Level 1 Trauma Center, community hospitals, medical practices and outpatient programs. From 1996-2008, she worked in public libraries in Amherst, MA, Carrboro, NC and Durham, NC. Margot teaches classes on Rural Health Resources, LGBTQIA+ Wellness, Grant Proposal Writing, and ClinicalTrials.gov. She is the DOCLINE Coordinator for Region 7.

ClinicalTrials.gov for Librarians ClinicalTrials.gov is the openly available federal registry and results database of publicly and privately funded clinical studies conducted in the United States and around the world. ClinicalTrials.gov is a vital resource for researchers, healthcare providers, and health sciences librarians who wish to consult the entire body of evidence on any particular topic. This 1 credit training covers the materials in a survey format with polls and exercises.
NNLM Grants and Proposal Writing A one-hour webinar designed for beginning grant proposal writers interested in NNLM funding, this class presents a general overview of the grant and funding processes as well as the level of detail required in a successful proposal.
Region 7 Presents - History of the Rochester Study: Literature Discussion Join us for a discussion of three journal articles about the Rochester Study. Explore previous research into the impact of hospital library services on clinical decision making.
Region 7: Hospital Libraries Advisory Group Annual Meeting Region 7 will share what we are learning from hospital libraries, and we will ask for webinar suggestions. This is an opportunity for Region 7 to connect with hospital librarians in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Region 7: NNLM Day at MLA 2022 Meet the NNLM Region 7 during NNLM Day at MLA 2022! At this session, we will highlight our activities in the first year as the new Region 7 program. Additionally, we will share upcoming activities and programs NNLM members can look forward to in the coming year. Come share your ideas of relevant programming that interests you, and the other members of the region.
