Community Engagement Coordinator - NNLM Region 3, Region 3
Margie Sheppard is the Community Engagement Coordinator for NNLM Region 3. She is based out of the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. Prior to joining NNLM she was a technology consultant for a public library system in rural Kansas. She has an undergraduate degree in Nursing and a Master's in Library Science. She teaches a variety of classes for NNLM and has a passion for connecting people with reliable health information resources.

Medical Nutrition Therapy in Clinical Practice: Enhancing patient outcomes | This presentation will introduce participants to the foundational principles of Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and highlight how it differs from general nutrition education or wellness advice. Attendees will gain insight into the specialized role of the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) in the development of an individualized plan of care and nutrition therapy interventions. Conditions such as diabetes, obesity, kidney disease, and gastrointestinal disorders, for which MNT is particularly effective will be discussed. |
Navigating Systematic Reviews with AI: Best Practices and Challenges | As the newest disruptor, AI has everyone considering its place in our daily work. For those conducting evidence syntheses, such as systematic reviews, there are numerous tasks which AI has the potential to automate or at least enhance.
