Professional Dev: Presenting EBM and the Librarian to Health Sciences Librarians in North Dakota

The North Dakota Library Association's Health Science Information Section HSIS will offer free training related to searching for evidence-based medicine. The training will be a one-day workshop version of the popular 'EBM and the Librarian' class taught by Connie Schardt. Attendees will be introduced to the basics of evidence-based medicine and will learn about the role that librarians can play in its practice and instruction. Participants will learn to identify and build well-built clinical questions, will practice EBM searching strategies in PubMed/Medline, and will learn how to judge the validity of articles found. The workshop will be open to any interested librarians and will be promoted via state and regional email listservs, including but not limited to: NDLA HSIS, NDLA Academic & Special Libraries Section, ND-Manitoba Chapter of the Association of College & Research Libraries, and the Midwest and Midcontinent Chapters of the Medical Library Association. The workshop will be hosted and co-sponsored by the University of North Dakota's Health Sciences Library.
