Subaward Project

Breathe Well Nampa - Air Quality and You

Breathe Well Nampa project will be an extension of the Be Well Nampa project launched in 2019 to raise awareness of health concerns related to poor air quality. Participants will include Nampa residents aged 14 and older with an outreach focus of our Hispanic community. Adult Services staff at the Library will begin promotion in March 2022 for workshops to be held in April to promote Citizen Science Month and to engage library patrons in air quality education and data collection. Air quality monitoring kits will be distributed initially at the two workshops held by the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) in April to inform attendees about air quality data gathering methods and how it relates to adverse health concerns. This approach will encourage individuals participating in Citizen Science projects to make informed decisions about their daily actions which impact regional air quality. Future workshops will be held seasonally.
