Access to Wellness Resources and Programs; Supporting 1st & 2nd Year Students

During the 2025-2026 academic year, the Thurgood Marshall Library will offer free, 90-minute health wellness workshops to support first- and second-year students. While touching on all areas of health/wellness, the workshops will pay particular attention to mental health AND ensure that all students can easily and confidentially access those services. The library will partner with Counseling Services, Disability Services and Health Services along with student-led organizations that support student wellbeing. Each workshop will have a guest speaker to present information around the topic and how it impacts students and how they can access and engage with the services at BSU. During each workshop, time will be provided for small-group interaction with an opportunity for questions. Students will leave each program with a resource pamphlet that will continue to support their wellness and provide access information for all health and wellness services; again, emphasizing mental health.
