Grant Application - Outreach

The Central Massachusetts Area Health Education Center (CMAHEC) DBA Center for Health Impact (CHI) is proposing to deliver a series of health education and workforce development trainings dedicated to topics related to LGBTQIA+ health in order to meet the growing needs of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex and Allied (LGBTQIA+) communities throughout Massachusetts, Vermont and Connecticut. This project will be aligned with the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM)’s mission of improving public health by training health professionals to deliver culturally responsive care to gender and sexual minorities in the New England region.  CHI has a long history of developing curricula and delivering integrated health education and workforce development trainings for community health workers (CHWS) and other allied health professionals. In 2022, CHI developed a series of LGBTQIA+ health education trainings for CHWs and health professionals, which have been piloted, peer-reviewed and implemented throughout Massachusetts, in order to meet the growing need of the LGBTQIA+ populations and the health professionals who serve them.
