PubMed® comprises more than 38 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books. How PubMed Works On-Demand walks through all the parts of the PubMed interface. Each class is designed to take approximately 90 minutes to complete, and each is worth 1.5 MLA CE credits. |
Love Data Week | Love Data Week is celebrated in February, and provides an opportunity to learn about data, how to make good use of it, and to recognize its importance across all that we do. The NNLM offers programs on supporting data management, data visualization, and data tools. Pick from a variety of events and workshops to learn a little something about data annually in February! |
National Center for Data Services (NCDS) Short Course | The NCDS short course provides an opportunity to grow in special topics of data librarianship and services. The topic changes annually, and it is based on trending areas of importance to health information professionals. The target audience can consist of those who have no experience with data services as well as experienced practitioners. The short course is typically offered in the spring. |

NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy Overview | The NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy that will go into effect in January 2023 will require funded researchers to submit a plan outlining how scientific data from their research will be managed and shared. This session is intended for information professionals who are unfamiliar with this policy and will review the policy components and how you can prepare to address the policy at your institution. |

NNLM 2024 Showcase Symposium | The NNLM 2024 Virtual Symposium highlighted projects and activities that NNLM Regional Medical Libraries, Offices, and Centers sponsored. Each of the projects are in support NNLM's Mission, the national initiatives, and/or the NLM Strategic Plan. Additionally, the NNLM hosted events to support you in planning and applying for grants to do your own project. |
NNLM Book Discussion | NNLM Book Discussion offers librarians, health professionals, and public health workers interested in better understanding health issues faced by their communities an opportunity to explore topics with other professionals and earn Continuing Education Credit. Participants can complete the book and earn CE credit on their schedule. A new book is selected each quarter. Participants can acquire the book in their preferred format and have 3 months to complete the requirements and earn 4 MLA CE by participating in either an online or live discussion |

Open Tools for Data De-identification | The webinar will provide a brief introduction to data science topics and terminologies. Topics will include AI in healthcare, explaining what natural language processing is, and discussing HIPAA privacy requirements and defining PII. This first part will be brief and focus on providing a foundational understanding. The second and bulk of the class will focus on the NLM Scrubber and CliniDeID as examples of NLP models that can be used for clinical deidentification. The class will cover how to promote these tools at the librarians' institution. |
