Mental Health First Aid

This day long workshop is offered by the University of Maryland Baltimore School of Nursing and presents strategies for recognizing signs and symptoms of mental health or substance use challenges and offer support without having to be a mental health professional.

This session will not be recorded and there will be pre-work (more information to come).

If you register, we ask that you commit to the full 6 hours. If you find that you cannot attend, please contact us to cancel your registration.  Space is limited to 30 participants.

Objectives:

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges.
  • Identify common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges.
  • Understand how to interact with a person in crisis.
