Class Experience Level

This class is no longer accepting registrations

Bed bugs are not a new challenge to libraries.

In the first 30 minutes of this session, we will hear from Janet Anderson, previous Library Director of Minot Public Library. Janet will discuss the issues with these pests in libraries and describe the thorough policies and procedures created by Minot Public Library to deal with such infestations.

Janet will also describe the research conducted by staff on preventing and treating bed bugs and how they can impact a library.  While dealing with bed bugs can be a huge pain, it's something that anyone can manage with a little patience and some knowledge.

About the Speaker:

Janet Anderson received a Masters' in Library & Information Sciences from Indiana University and is the NW Clinical Campus Librarian for the University of North Dakota. Janet's first professional library job was as a Children's Librarian in Virginia and then eventually as a Branch Manager.

Prior to this work, Janet held a variety of roles within libraries in Indiana, including an academic librarian, page and cataloging assistant. Janet returned to North Dakota in 2012 to become the Adult Services Librarian at the Minot Public Library and was the Director of the Minot Public Library for 8 years.

Following the presentation and Q&A, there will be an open meeting for Region 4 members interested in meeting with or asking Region 4 team members questions.
