Comparative genomic analyses are a powerful tool for scientific discovery. The NIH Comparative Genomics Resource (CGR) is a freely accessible online suite of tools and data supporting comparative genomics analysis of eukaryotic organisms. The NIH funded, multi-year project’s vision is to maximize the biomedical impact of eukaryotic research organisms and their genomic data resources to meet emerging research needs for human health.
CGR includes a National Center for Biotechnology (NCBI) toolkit whose interoperable data and tools can integrate into your clients’ workflows. With CGR you can compare genomic sequences, explore and download NCBI sequence data, visualize genomic data, improve sequence data quality before submitting it, and more. CGR also provides standardized interfaces and tools to connect your resources and content to NCBI’s high quality genome and genome-related data and tools.
Join CGR project leader Dr. Valerie Schneider to learn about how scientists can use this toolkit of interconnected, interoperable data and tools in CGR in their work, and how you can help further its mission by educating your community and connecting scientists with CGR.
