Biography:

Kimberly Carlo is one of the Education and Outreach Coordinators for Region 7 of the NNLM. She has participated in the National Center for Data Services' Data Internship and has been interested in data librarianship ever since. Kimberly has obtained her M.S. in Information and Library Science from the University at Buffalo. Some of her other professional interests include scholarly communication and archives.

R7 Presents: State of Data Librarianship This class will be an introduction to data librarianship for early career librarians or librarians considering data librarianship as a path of work. If you have any interest in learning about becoming a data librarian but do not know where to start, this class is an entry point into this field of work. Topics of discussion will include job responsibilities, early career development opportunities, AI, and coding.
Region 7 Presents: Creating a Data Dashboard with Power BI This introductory workshop will use the web version of Power BI to explore, analyze, and visualize your data all in one place.
Region 7 Presents: Creating a Data Dashboard with Power BI (Part Two) This demonstration will be for Power BI Desktop (which may look differently than the web-based version). Please follow the first part of this class to catch up with the material in this second segment.
Region 7 Presents: SciENcv- An Introduction This class will explain what SciENcv is, why it is an important tool for researchers and information professionals, and provide a walkthrough of how to use SciENcv.
