Funding Opportunities

The purpose of the Supplemental Outreach & Engagement Award is to build on projects and programs funded by NNLM Region 5 through the Outreach & Engagement Award or Data Engagement Award between 2021 – 2026. The supplemental award will increase access and use of quality health information and improve health literacy through outreach, engagement, and training.  

Only institutions who received an Outreach & Engagement Award or Data Engagement Award from Region 5 during the 2021-2026 funding period are eligible to apply.

Awards are cost-reimbursable and are issued to the institution, not the individual. Award funding is pending budget availability. 

The purpose of the Supplemental Technology Improvement Award is to build on projects and programs funded by NNLM Region 5 through the Technology Improvement Award between 2021 – 2026. The supplemental award will increase access and use of quality health information through access to technology.  

Only institutions who received a Technology Improvement Award from Region 5 during the 2021-2026 funding period are eligible to apply.

Awards are cost-reimbursable and are issued to the institution, not the individual. Award funding is pending budget availability. 

The Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) Region 5, under cooperative agreement with the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM), announces the availability of funding through its Technology Improvement Award to support infrastructure that improves access to biomedical and health information.

5 awards available, pending budget availability. Awards are cost-reimbursable and are issued to the institution, not the individual. Application is open to those who submitted a letter of intent in March 2025.

The Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) Region 5, under cooperative agreement with the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM), announces the availability of funding through Professional Development Awards to increase knowledge, skills and competencies of NNLM network members on areas related to NLM priorities.

Eligibility

Generally, 501(c)(3) organizations, as well as local, county, or state funded entities, are eligible for funding from NNLM Region 5. Applicants must be from an institution that is a member of NNLM Region 5. Membership is free and open to institutions interested in improving access to health information. 

Only one award per Network member organization will be made during the current grant year. Awards will be available on an ongoing basis until funds are depleted. Payment will be made to the applicant’s host institution.

To receive funding, applicant’s institution must invoice the University of Washington (UW) no later than March 20, 2026.
