The Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) Region 5, under cooperative agreement with the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM), announces the availability of funding through Professional Development Awards to increase knowledge, skills and competencies of NNLM network members on areas related to NLM priorities.

Network member organizations in Region 5 are eligible to apply. Only one award per Network member organization will be made during the current grant year. Awards will be available on an ongoing basis until funds are depleted. Payment will be made to the applicant’s host institution.

To receive funding, applicant’s institution must invoice the University of Washington (UW) no later than March 20, 2026. In order to invoice the UW, the institution must be registered as a UW supplier (for information on registering, contact Region 5 Grants Manager Lisa Guerrero via email: guerrl@uw.edu)

NNLM CHIS Training Award Year 5 (2025-2026) $300

The purpose of the CHIS Training Award is to 1) strengthen the professional knowledge and experience of individual network members in the provision of consumer health information and 2) empower libraries and other organizations to train staff in skills needed to deliver reliable health information, in support of specific NTO Aims, the NNLM mission, and the NLM 2017-2027 Strategic Plan.
