NIH Public Access Policy for Librarians

Much of the training available for the NIH Public Access Policy is geared toward researchers. This course offers practical guidance expressly for librarians. We cover the basics of the NIH Public Access Policy, the manuscript submission process, how to use NCBI and My Bibliography to track compliance, and potential roles for librarians. 

NLM Classification Fundamentals

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) employs an authorized classification scheme called the NLM Classification. Designed for librarians who are creating or using a bibliographic record, this course will provide a basic overview of the NLM Classification, including how to apply Classification numbers, how to interpret NLM Call numbers, how to use the online NLM Classification system and where to go for more information for specific issues. 

NLM Office Hours

NLM Office Hours are an opportunity for people who use NLM products to interact with NLM staff. Each office hours session will begin with a brief product demonstration or news item, and the remainder of the session will be devoted to answering your questions.

 

NNLM 2024 Showcase Symposium The NNLM 2024 Virtual Symposium highlighted projects and activities that NNLM Regional Medical Libraries, Offices, and Centers sponsored. Each of the projects are in support NNLM's Mission, the national initiatives, and/or the NLM Strategic Plan. Additionally, the NNLM hosted events to support you in planning and applying for grants to do your own project.
NNLM All of Us Speaker Series

Join NNLM's All of Us Community Engagement Network as they host speakers on a variety of topics. Sessions feature guest speakers.

NNLM Book Discussion

NNLM Book Discussion offers librarians, health professionals, and public health workers interested in better understanding health issues faced by their communities an opportunity to explore topics with other professionals and earn Continuing Education Credit.

Participants can complete the book and earn CE credit on their schedule. A new book is selected each quarter. Participants can acquire the book in their preferred format and have 3 months to complete the requirements and earn 4 MLA CE by participating in either an online or live discussion
