The National Center for Data Services (NCDS) of the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) provides internships for current graduate students in library and information studies (LIS) programs. These are paid opportunities to work in a guided environment on structured data-related projects as practical experiences outside of the classroom with mentoring. The goal of this program is to introduce students to data librarianship within the health sciences and provide practical experiences that provide them with skills needed to enter data librarian positions.
