Please note: This session will not be recorded. Access to subscription-based biomedical literature remains a significant barrier for physicians practicing outside academic health systems, particularly in rural and under-resourced communities. This session will present the design, implementation, and first-year outcomes of a statewide subsidized article delivery service developed to eliminate paywall barriers and support evidence-based practice.
Participants will learn how a customized PubMed interface, strategic partnerships with licensing agencies and professional associations, and grant-funded article fulfillment combined to create a seamless, zero-cost experience for clinicians. The session will review outreach strategies, enrollment growth, article usage data, cost considerations, vendor management, and sustainability planning. Attendees will gain practical insights into building a scalable, replicable model that extends library services beyond institutional boundaries and advances equitable access to clinical information.
