Region 7 Presents: Finding Sleep Hygiene Information in NLM Resources

Class Experience Level
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

Sleep hygiene is a timely and widely relevant health topic, particularly in the weeks following Daylight Saving Time. Sleep affects mental health, chronic disease management, learning, workplace safety, and overall well-being across the lifespan.

Using sleep hygiene as a case study, this webinar will demonstrate how to locate health information across three freely available National Library of Medicine (NLM) resources: MedlinePlus.gov, PubMed.gov, and ClinicalTrials.gov. Participants will explore strategies for moving from consumer-level health information to biomedical research literature and clinical research studies.

By registering for this class, you are agreeing to the NNLM Code of Conduct

Objectives:
  • Identify appropriate NLM resources for locating consumer health information, biomedical research literature, and clinical trial data related to sleep hygiene.
  • Apply advanced PubMed search techniques, including the use of Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), to improve precision in literature searches.
  • Locate completed clinical studies with posted results in ClinicalTrials.gov to supplement published literature.
