Nutrition and Cooking Demonstration For National Library week in April 2024, GHS-All of Us and the La Crescent Public Library of Minnesota would like to host a community nutrition event. This event would be an engagement opportunity for All of Us, with a table display and a short presentation. The cooking demonstration will be facilitated by Anna Kitzmann, Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist, who is part of a larger group at Gundersen Health System, called Plant Partners: healthcare professionals who believe food is medicine. Our Stories: Wellbeing at the Wayland Free Library This project will incorporate telling (and recording) our stories about wellness into library programs. The programs at the library will bring people together, sharing our stories is already part of the culture we are trying to foster at our programs. Gathering to create meals and crafts, exercise, share our experiences and learn new things will be the springboard to making recordings for StoryCorps. The Teen Suppers will also play a StoryCorps recording at the beginning of some of the programs.
All of Us Journey Bus Stop This traveling educational exhibit to learn how you can help shape the future of health for yourself, your family, your community, and generations to come. The Journey Exhibit features interactive activities, videos, games, quizzes, and more – all designed to demonstrate the power of your participation in health research. You can even enroll in the  All of Us Research Program during your visit.
NAPC Promotion Award The North Liberty Library looks to improve our presentation system for our community of seniors by acquiring a large screen television and microphone speaker system. Every Friday, the library and Recreation Department host a senior lunch that provides a social hour, a meal, and a presenter. The library has just begun an additional social gathering for our senior population which rotates a series of activities centered around the purpose of promoting social connection. Listening, Learning, and Participating in Disability Visibility at Sam Houston State University Our goal is to increase the visibility of people with disabilities at Sam Houston State University (SHSU). The chosen book for Spring 2022 diversity reader is Disability Visibility: First-Person Stories from the Twenty-First Century -- Alice Wong (Editor). As the health sciences librarian I want to introduce the All of Us Research Program in conjunction with this diversity reader during the spring semester by conducting listening, learning, and participatory sessions held in the Newton Gresham Library.
