The purpose of the Virtual Professional Development Award is to enable individuals in Region 3 Network Member institutions to expand professional knowledge and experience to provide improved health information access to healthcare providers and consumers.

The Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) Region 5, under cooperative agreement with the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM), announces the availability of funding through Professional Development Awards to increase knowledge, skills and competencies of NNLM network members on areas related to NLM priorities.

The purpose of the Professional Development Award is to strengthen the professional knowledge and experience of individual network members in health data related services or health information access/delivery, build professional capacity in support of the mission of the NNLM, and enable libraries and other organizations to train staff in skills needed to deliver reliable health information.

The Exhibit Award provides funding to exhibit at local, regional, national meetings, summits and conferences for health professionals, information professionals and health consumers. Exhibiting provides an opportunity to promote NLM products, Region 2 programs and/or Region 2 membership.

The purpose of the Exhibit Award is to conduct outreach to the region through conferences or by hosting exhibits within their own institutions and to build professional capacity in support of the goals of the NNLM.

The purpose of the Leadership Pathways Award is to create a pathway for current early-to-mid-career librarians to explore leadership roles within the health sciences library profession. The award focuses on exploring and developing management skills with guidance from an experienced health sciences library manager recruited by NNLM Region 3.

The purpose of the Emerging Leader Award is to motivate and prepare a librarian for a position of leadership in an academic health sciences library. With oversight from the NNLM Region 3 Directors’ Advisory Board, the awarded librarian is paired with a director who will serve as their mentor.

The Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) Region 5, under cooperative agreement with the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM), announces the availability of funding through its Technology Equity Award to support infrastructure that improves equitable access to biomedical and health information.

The purpose of the Health Technology & Program Kit Award is to provide support for organizations who are interested in implementing technology applications or activity kits to enhance access to high quality health information.

The purpose of the Express Health Information Outreach Award is to provide short-term support for projects that improve health information literacy and increase the ability of consumers caregivers, students, and other members of the public to find and use health information.

The purpose of the Express Health Information Outreach Award is to provide support for projects that improve health information literacy and increase the ability of consumers caregivers, students, and other members of the public to find, access, and use health information. Funds can also be used to improve healthcare professionals’ access to, awareness of, and skills for locating high-quality biomedical and health information.

The Innovation Impact Award supports new projects that involve creative program improvement and seek to enhance health information outreach, and may not fit into other award categories.

The purpose of this funding is to support short-term projects that involve program improvement concepts, including technology improvements projects, that attempts to enhance the applicant’s communities’ access to health information resources that supports improving health literacy skills.

The purpose of the Tribal Health Information Outreach Award is to provide support for projects that improve health information literacy and increase the ability of American Indian communities and individuals, and Tribal Nations to find and use health information.

The overarching purpose of this funding to build partnerships and collaborations with local community groups and other key groups to reach underserved populations with health information outreach projects that use community-driven approaches designed to increase access to health information by working through libraries and other members to support a highly trained workforce in biomedical, health information, and data science resources.

Projects should be in support the Region 4 Core Aims, the mission of the NNLM, and the  NLM 2017-2027 Strategic Plan.

The purpose of the Health Information Outreach Award is to provide support for projects that improve health information literacy and increase the ability of patients, family members, students and members of the public to find and use health information; or improve health professionals’ access to, awareness of, and skills for locating high-quality biomedical and health information.

The Emergency Preparedness and Response Award supports projects that address natural disasters and local emergencies in the community, using the phases of preparedness, mitigation, recovery, and response.

This award provides support for projects that improve health information literacy and increase the ability of consumers caregivers, students, and other members of the public to find and use health information.

The purpose of the Health Information Outreach Award is to ensure that healthcare professionals, patients, and the general public are introduced to authoritative health information. This award provides support for projects that improve health information literacy and increase the ability of consumers caregivers, students, and other members of the public to find and use health information.

The purpose of this funding is to develop new or enhance existing collaborative projects among all library types to increase awareness and use of NLM resources and to improve health information literacy; increase the ability of patients, family members, students, and members of the public to find and use health information; or improve health professionals’ access to, awareness of, and skills for locating high-quality biomedical and health information. Awards should focus on building partnerships and collaborating with local community groups and other key groups to reach underserved populations in the region with health information outreach projects. Project should be in support of the NLM 2017-2027 Strategic Plan.
