Mālama i ka ʻikepili, Caring for Data: Supporting Hawaiʻi’s Research Data Needs through a Library Data Services Program University of Hawai'i at Mānoa Library The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UHM) Library seeks support for the development of a biomedical data management and data sharing course optimized for Hawaiʻi researchers and students, culminating in a live symposium in Spring 2023. Improving Access to Quality Health Information through Little Free Libraries St. Luke's Health System Project Summary: This pilot project aims to improve the health literacy of the refugee community in Boise by distributing culturally appropriate health information via Little Free Libraries. This project supports NNLM’s mission to improve public health by empowering underserved groups to make effective use of information for health decision-making. Challis Public Library Telehealth and Health Care Information Education Center Challis Public Library The Challis Public Library is in the final stages of adding a telehealth privacy pod inside the public library. The objective is to have a place where patrons, and the general public, including temporary workers and travelers, could access health care providers in the privacy of the pod within our library. Equitable Access to Telehealth Effingham Public Library - Illinois Since June 2020, the Effingham Public Library has been providing case management services for our community. While this program was born out of the unique needs presented by the pandemic, the needs of our community have continued to evolve. One of the emerging areas of need is access to telehealth and mental health services. Since we serve primarily a rural community, access to broadband and the required technology to support a telehealth appointment are not available to all community members. Health Information Literacy Training for Southeastern Illinois Eastern Illinois University Booth Library This project builds on the digital literacy program developed by Illinois Broadband READY to add a digital health literacy component. Telehealth Services in Delaware Libraries EveryLibrary Institute NFP In the latest effort by the Delaware Libraries to increase access to health and human services for patrons, telehealth booths were deployed in rural libraries in the southern part of the state. The target population for this pilot initiative were the uninsured and underinsured population. Public libraries are known for being safe places in the community where we know patrons are already coming for health-related programming from our community partners. Smart Tablet Education for Healthy Living” (STEHL) project for older adults (SAG) Northern Illinois University School of Nursing The “smart tablet education for healthy living” (STEHL) project for older adults is being created to build upon a previous project that was recently funded by the NNLM and All of Us Research grant which was successfully completed (October 2022 to April 2023).
