An Ethical Reflection Aid for Implementing AI in Libraries and Archives February 12, 2025 Artificial intelligence (AI) can be used in libraries and archives as a powerful tool for enhancing metadata, improving search and discovery, recommending resources, powering library chatbots, and more. However, AI systems also have the potential to cause social, technical, and ethical problems. In response to these issues, the IMLS-funded Responsible AI in Libraries and Archives project has created an ethical reflection aid to facilitate responsible implementation of AI systems in libraries and archives.   During this webinar, members of the project team will discuss research results and introduce the prototype ethical reflection aid.

Mental Health First Aid Training Opportunity for Region 2 Network - Session 1 March 20, 2025

NNLM Region 2 will be hosting a virtual Mental Health First Aid Training class on March 20th from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. EST. There are two parts to the virtual training: 2.5 hours of self-led online pre-work required 48 hours prior to the start of the live Zoom session and 5.5 hours of live virtual training on March 20th via Zoom 8:30 a.m.-2:30p EST (this includes a 30-minute lunch break)

This class can support 30 participants. If this training reaches capacity, a waitlist will be created for further training opportunities in Spring 2025. Training will be provided by Amanda Sammons at the Medical University of South Carolina. For questions, please email region2@nnlm.com.

This session is reserved for participants in the Region 2 states and territories of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
